According to The New York Times, Facebook has intensified its efforts to release a mobile phone in 2013, looking for ways to increase revenue in the mobile Internet.

With Google soon going to finalize the purchase of Motorola Mobility, a constructor of mobile telephones and tablets, to counter the growth of Apple,  Facebook, which missed its initial public offering last week, because of the over-valuation of the shares of the company is looking to do the same according to a variety of sources. In spite of some 700 million users of the community site, the company has to to continue to prove to its shareholders that there is a future. Speaking of founder of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, an anonymous employee of the company was quoted as saying that “Mark is concerned that if he does not create a mobile phone in the near future, Facebook will be just that one application among others on other platforms for mobile devices.”

Facebook “has already hired more than six former hardware and software engineers who worked on the iPhone and one who worked on the iPad,” says the New York Times, without citing sources. It is said that Facebook continues to work with the Taiwanese HTC in a project named “Buffy” allowing Android phone to integrate its services, as revealed last year by the news specialized website “All Things Digital”  it would work in addition to a home project. The experience would be more immersive than the terminals HTC ChaCha and Salsa, marketed last year by the builder who proposes on their facade a button Facebook for a fast connection to the social network. Finally, the website acquired the photo editing application Instagram for a billion dollars last month.

This weekend, another rumor launched by the site Pocket-lint. Facebook would intend to buy the Norwegian Opera browser for its own browser for mobile devices. Questioned, Facebook commented in an email that its strategy was to make all mobile devices “deeply social”, without directly addressing possible projects to make its mark on telephones.  the company said.
