Nowadays, cell phone is almost become an indispensable part of human life. Many people referred their cell phone as their organ. However, one of the cell phone limitations is its limited battery life. It need to be recharged often, the recharging must be done via an adapter and then plug it into the power outlet which cannot be found in all places. Isn’t it better if we don’t have to find the power outlet with a proper jack to plug our cell phone adapter in? The researchers finally help us solved the question; they came up with “Kinetically Charged Cell Phone“.
The concept of the Kinetically Charged Cell Phone is the phone can be recharge via built-in piezoelectric generators that will convert the user’s motions into power(1). On the other hand, The more you use the phone, the more kinetic energy is turned into an electric charge through an array of tiny piezoelectric generators(2).
With kinetically charged cell phones, we can go everywhere without any worry about the battery life. Nevertheless, there still have many things to be concern such as the battery longevity when we didn’t interact or move the phone around for 1 hour or even 30 minutes, the weight and size of the cell phone that can put the kinetically charging technology in, keeping and maintenance issues, the price, and etc. Anywise, we have to wait for proving it when the time is come.

Very interesting … convert the user’s motions into power! I used to hear only the technology to recharge battery life by using solar cell but this kind of technology is very new, interesting and definitely useful. By the way, every technology has its limitation I hope the developer will continuously improve this technology and launch it to the market soon 🙂
